November Conversion Ratios

I thought it would fun to share some sexy statistics with you guys. I always love to look at the stats and comparing them against other networks to see just how shitty Clickbank is. So let's check it out.

Clickbank: 1:169
Copeac (per sale items): 1:27
Paydotcom: 1:32
Market Health: 1:12

Sexy eh?

Hey man, love your blog! Keep telling it like it is. Those conversion rates look about right. I'm both a publisher and an affiliate for Clickbank. On BOTH ends my conversion rates tanked right at the end of October when everybody started noticing their first "glitch." Instead of making $300 + per account per month I was making - get this - a big fat zero. Same traffic to my pages. Same conversions for my opt-in newsletters. No sales. Nada. Nothing. When you have 1500 hops and zero sales at Clickbank when usually you'd have about one out of 100 hops converting - minimum - then something is royally sucking the raw dog. I smell the stink, and it is Clickbank. On the Conduit method sites I run, most sell physical goods. Guess what the conversion rates were for those through November? Normal - ranging from 3% - 7%. Guess what my conversion rates were on the two conduit sites where I promote Clickbank products only? Zero. Prior to that each of these was at least making SOME sales, although they were relatively new and hadn't really gotten off the ground yet. I'm finding some decent stuff on Paydot com to promote and I will happily promote any former Clickbank publisher who moves their stuff over there - just email me and I'll check out what you're selling and start selling it for you. I hear you about the zero sales. My trouble started earlier than most people's. I don't know why, but everyone seems to be effected differently. Mine started on the last week of September. I was making record profits the first three weeks of September. I was rolling in the dough. It was insane. The new pay period started (for weekly payouts if I'm not mistaken) and it went straight to zeros. I had a full week of zeros. I was freakin' out. I was doing everything right, had record profits, than a week of zeros. I broke down and complained. 6 minutes after they replied to my complaint, I got a sale. I got a few sales over the next two days, and it went to inconsistent as hell. October was just rotten. Inconsistent as hell, record amounts of traffic being sent and periods of 6-9 days of no sales. November came along at it went into a pattern. I would get sales over three consecutive days, than 3 days of no sales. Again 3 days of sales, than 3 days of no sales. They're bastards because they won't fix it, nor admit there is a problem.

Wow, that totally sucks! I'm so sorry to hear that it went that way for you. Now I understand why you started this cool blog! I noticed a record month in September too - like my sales were tripled temporarily. Every month in 2008 prior to that sales had been 3X lower and consistent and predictable. Then right after that huge spike I ALSO had things drop off considerably at the end of September....which I attributed to affiliates not marketing my product as agressively (this was on my publisher account, not my affiliate account.) I didn't even get suspicious about Clickbank maybe being off because getting so many sales was a good thing for me - but now I'm wondering if there hasn't been periodic suckage all along. On the forums a lot of old timers are saying that Clickbank is notorious for doing this a few times a year, probably with whatever latest upgrade isn't working. In the past I've been lucky as I don't think my accounts were affected....but man, it sucks when it happens to you. Best Dan

Yeah, it does suck that it has happened to me, but that isn't what frustrates me. What frustrates me is the negligence on Clickbank's part. I'm sort of sitting there with my thumb up my ass. I can't turn to anyone for help. Every other business that I've had a relationship with has wanted to rectify problems with me. They wanted to make me happy. Clickbank doesn't have any desires. They blatantly lie in their emails and patronize you. It's frustrating when you seem to be the only concerned because Clickbank certainly isn't. That's why I made this site. It's to educate because Clickbank has no desire to rectify. Thanks for replying Dan.
